Privacy at PotatoPlayer

PotatoPlayer is a lightweight browser-game site with optional accounts, cloud saves, supporter subscriptions, sponsor links, and possible future advertising on some game pages. This policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Information we collect

PotatoPlayer accounts are optional. If you create an account, PotatoPlayer collects the email address you provide, a password hash, email verification status, session records, and temporary verification or password-reset token hashes. PotatoPlayer does not ask for your name, birthday, phone number, location, avatar, or public profile information.

If you use cloud-save features, PotatoPlayer may store game progress, save data, settings, scores, timestamps, and related game-state information connected to your account. Cloud-save data is used to let you resume or sync game progress while signed in.

If you play multiplayer games, PotatoPlayer may process gameplay session data such as room or match identifiers, player actions, scores, timing, connection status, latency, disconnects, and related server logs. PotatoPlayer multiplayer games do not include player chat at this time.

Like most websites and online games, hosting providers and basic server logs may automatically receive limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, game server connections, and the date and time of your visit. Multiplayer game servers may be hosted through third-party infrastructure providers such as AWS Lightsail. This information is generally used for security, debugging, abuse prevention, multiplayer operation, and basic site operation.

Supporter subscriptions and payments

PotatoPlayer may offer an optional supporter subscription for perks such as ad-free play, early access games, and other supporter features. Payments are handled by Stripe, including through Stripe Managed Payments where available. Stripe may act as the merchant or seller of record for the transaction, handle tax calculation or collection, send receipts, help manage fraud and disputes, and provide transaction-level payment support. PotatoPlayer does not store full card numbers or full payment credentials.

To manage supporter access, PotatoPlayer may store limited billing-related records such as your Stripe customer ID, Stripe subscription ID, subscription status, current billing-period dates, cancellation status, and entitlement status. Stripe processes payment and billing data according to Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy.

How we use information

PotatoPlayer uses information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, keep you signed in, provide cloud saves, operate multiplayer game sessions, determine supporter perks, manage billing status, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the site, understand aggregate site usage through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, improve games, and operate the website.

Advertising on game pages

PotatoPlayer does not currently load third-party ads on game pages. In the future, some game pages may include third-party advertising to help keep PotatoPlayer online. These ads may be provided by Google AdSense or another ad provider. Ad providers may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, or similar technologies to deliver, measure, and improve ads.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to PotatoPlayer or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to PotatoPlayer and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' personalized advertising cookies through aboutads.info where available.

Supporter accounts are intended to receive ad-free play while signed in and while their supporter entitlement is active. If an ad provider offers its own privacy choices or opt-out tools, those choices are controlled by that provider.

Sponsor and outbound links

PotatoPlayer may include sponsor links, such as the current link to Didi’s Cookbook. If you click a sponsor or external link, you will leave PotatoPlayer and the destination website’s own privacy policy will apply.

Cookies and similar technologies

PotatoPlayer uses an account session cookie when you sign in. This cookie is used to keep you logged in and provide account features. PotatoPlayer also uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, and those Google services may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and interactions. If third-party ads are added later, ad providers on game pages may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies and settings. PotatoPlayer uses CookieYes for cookie and consent management.

For more detail, see the Cookie Policy. If personalization, retargeting, or broader tracking features are added later, PotatoPlayer should update its policies and consent approach before those features launch.

Data retention and account deletion

PotatoPlayer keeps account information while your account is active or as needed to operate the site, provide cloud saves, maintain billing records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. Server logs and temporary security records may be retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

If you delete your account, PotatoPlayer soft-deletes the account record, anonymizes the email value, replaces the password hash with an unusable random hash, clears verification and reset tokens, and clears active sessions. If your account has active Stripe billing, you may need to cancel the supporter subscription through the billing portal before account deletion can be completed. Some limited records may be retained where needed for security, billing history, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

Your choices

You can choose not to create an account. If you create an account, you can update your password, use account deletion controls, cancel supporter billing through the billing portal when available, and use your browser settings to manage cookies. You can also choose not to click sponsor or external links.

Children’s privacy

PotatoPlayer is a general-audience browser-game website. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If you are 13 or older but under the age of majority where you live, use PotatoPlayer with permission from a parent or guardian. PotatoPlayer is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information through an account, contact PotatoPlayer so the account can be reviewed or removed.
